Invite new members to your Group
By default, only Group administrators and owners can invite people to the Group as members.
Get a sharable invite link
Administrators can generate a link which can be sent to people you want to invite to the Group. A single invite link can be used by up to 500 people.
- When signed in to GroupNews, click your Group name in the top left corner.
- Select Invite people to [Group name] from the menu.
- If you see the button that says Get a sharable invite link, click it.
- Copy the shareable invite link that is displayed.
- Send the link to people you want to invite however you want to distribute it to them.
People who use your link can either create a new GroupNews account, or, if they have one, sign into their existing account. They will then be able join your Group.
Note: For the security of your group, a shared invite link can only be used up to 500 times. They also expire after 30 days by default, though you can change that. Once a link has expired or been used up, you can always generate a new one.
Send individual invitations
- When signed in to GroupNews, click your Group name in the top left corner.
- Select Invite people to [Group name] from the menu.
- Enter the email addresses of anyone you’d like to invite.
- Click Invite.
Note: Group owners and administrators can approve certain email domains so anyone with an approved email address can join the group without needing to send an invitation.
Invitation Limits
Depending on your Group’s subscription, you may have a limit on the number of invitations you can send. Premium and Enterprise plans allow you to invite as many members as you’d like, but the Lite plan is capped at 100 members.
If you have a Lite plan, you can only invite as many people as you have available “seats” in your plan. For instance, if your Group has 80 members, you can only invite 20 more people, for a total of 100.
