What is a Channel?

Channels are dedicated spaces inside your GroupNews Group—think of them as sub‑groups with their own news feed and calendar. When members sign in, they arrive at the Group home page, then navigate to the channels they’re allowed to see.

  • Flexible structure: Create channels for departments, projects, committees—whatever fits your organization.
  • Targeted access: Group administrators decide who can view or post in each channel. Make a channel group‑wide or restrict it to a select team.
  • Focused information: By clustering posts around topics or teams, channels keep conversations tidy and help members find the updates that matter most.
  • Unified visibility: Every post from the channels a member belongs to is automatically aggregated on their GroupNews home feed and appears in the weekly email digest sent to all members.

Use channels to break large, noisy news streams into clear, manageable sections—so everyone can zero in on the information they need.
