Mentions are a direct way to notify people of something that needs their attention in GroupNews. Learn how to mention people in your stories and discussions, and learn how to view your mentions.

Mention someone in a story or discussion

1. As you're writing a post or commenting on a discussion, enter the @ symbol.
2. Enter a member’s name or select one from the list of members. You can repeat this step for every person you’d like to mention in your message.
3. Publish your post or comment.
4. The group member(s) mentioned will be notified.

Viewing your mentions

When someone mentions you in a story or discussion, you will receive a notification in your Notifications panel which points you to the story or comment you were mentioned in. You will also receive an email alerting you to your notification. Your name will be highlighted in the comment or story so you can find it easily.
