Who can use this feature?
Only the current Group owner can transfer ownership of a Group.

There may come a point where you need to transfer ownership of your GroupNews Group to someone else. Here's how you'd do it.

I'm the Owner

If you're the Owner of your Group, you can transfer ownership to another Group member.

What to expect

• You'll need to enter your password to confirm the transfer.
• The transfer will happen immediately.
• Your role will change from Owner to Administrator.

Transfer Ownership

1. Visit the Group settings page
2. Find the section titled Group Owner
3. Search for and select the member you'd like to transfer Group ownership to.
4. Enter your password to confirm the transfer.
5. Click the Transfer Ownership button

I'm not the Owner

Only the Group owner can transfer ownership. If the Group owner has left the company or organization, you'll need to reach out to that person for help. You can read more detail in our Group ownership policy.

Tip: You can always create your own Group if needed. That would make you the owner of the new group.
