Delete a Group

Only the Group owner can delete a Group. If you’re not the owner, reach out to them for help.

Tip: Need to rename your Group or change its URL? You can do both in Group settings—no deletion required.

Before You Delete

  • Deleting a Group is permanent. All stories, events, discussions, and files will be erased and cannot be recovered.
  • Make sure you’ve exported or saved anything you want to keep.

How To Delete the Group

  1. Sign in to GroupNews and click your Group name (top-left).
  2. Choose Group settings from the menu.
  3. Scroll to Danger Zone → Delete this Group and click Delete this Group.
  4. Enter your GroupNews password to confirm, then click Delete.

That’s it—your Group is gone and all associated content is permanently removed.
